Current National Secretary of Forum for Africa Women Educationalists Nigeria (FAWEN). She joined FAWEN in 1996 when the Nigerian chapter was inaugurated. Thereafter the Lagos State Branch also took off the same year and She was elected the secretary of the organization. She was the co-coordinator of the Lagos State FAWEN from 2011 to 2014 when She became the National Secretary. From 2011 She became the zonal co-ordinator of the South-West Zone comprising of six states namely: Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, Oyo and Ondo State. She co-ordinated the Ambassadors Girls Scholarship Programme EDDI/AGSP in Lagos State from 2004 to 2011 when the programme was phased out. This was a programme supervised first by Winrock International and the World Education Inc. in conjunction with USAID. Apart from her activities in FAWEN She worked with the Lagos State Ministry of Education and rose to the post of a Director before retiring in 1999. The last post She held was Director in charge of Higher Education, Science and Technology.
My name is Grace Makeri Yahaya. I am from Kaduna State. I am a graduate of Kaduna Polytechnic where I graduated in Secretarial Studies in June 1974. Worked as a Secretary with the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria before going back again to school. I bagged a Bachelor and Masters degrees from the same University in 1980 and 1987. I Served for the National Service in Abeokuta , Ogun State in 1980/81. Worked in Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina State after the National Service until 1987 when I was employed as a Programmes Officer in the National Board for Technical Education in Kaduna. I retired from Public Service as a Deputy Director in the Programmes Department in December, 2012. I have two children, one which got married in March 2016. I come from a large family and I am the first born of seven children my parents had. Both parents are well. I came from a family that loves the Lord and recognize that He is ALL we have and exist only due to His Mercies and Love. I joined FAWE Nigeria sometime in 2010. I became the National Coordinator in 2012. I have many papers to my credit, have some publications and co- authored several books used in Junior Secondary school Business Studies.
Safiya J. Garba is an indigene of Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State; Nigeria. She completed her primary school education in the year 1979, obtained her Teachers’ Grade II Certificate in the year 1984; and N.C.E. in 1987. She proceeded Federal University, Jos in the where she obtained her B.A. Ed. In 1990 and in the year 2011 she obtained her Masters degree in History and International Studies from the same University. She is presently a Principal Lecturer with the Kaduna State College of Education (KSCOE) Gidan Waya and a Sub-Dean of the School of General Studies Education (GSE). She was the FAWE(N) Coordinator of KSCOE, Gidan Waya Chapter for Four (4) years and now the North West Coordinator of FAWE(N).
